Our Philosophy

The Philosophy at Maple Lane Day Care, is to promote a quality, safe, healthy and caring atmosphere for children, where they can develop as individuals.  We believe that each child is a unique individual.  We strive to provide a loving, nurturing and creative environment for the children.  We take into consideration the social, emotional, intellectual, cognitive, language and physical needs of each child.  Our atmosphere supports each child's creativity and positive self-image.  Our primary goal, is to have a happy environment, in which the children can interact with others, learn by playing and having lots of fun!

Why Children Play

Play is a child's work.  Children gain knowledge about the world through play-alone, with others and in groups.  Children are born learners and are naturally curious.  We believe that children should have fun!  After all, even the experts agree that children learn the most through play.  We believe that children learn through play and benefit from a structured yet flexible schedule.  These carefree years are so short, and soon the children will be exposed to a much more structured form of learning.  We offer a play-based curriculum that focuses on all areas of child development.  Our emphasis is placed on the growth of the whole child building self-esteem and self-confidence in a fun and stimulating environment.  Educational activities are based on the individual interests and needs of each child.  It is through play that your child will learn a myriad of skills and life lessons that will endure throughout their lifetime.  We take a hands on approach and encourage children to get involved in all aspects of the day.  We promote positive essential life skills in a nurturing manner.  The children will develop a sense of independence and responsibility and will be frequently praised and encouraged.

Why Choose Home Day Care

Significant research has provided evidence that warm, loving home-like settings are natural environments for children during early childhood. While offering the safety and comfort of home and providing a consistent caregiver throughout the years, home child care is the care of choice for many parents. Research has shown that home child care has unique qualities that make it the preferred arrangement of many parents.

We provide parents with the peace of mind that their child is safe, protected and well cared for. The foundation of home child care is relationships. Relationships between parents and providers, providers and the children and the children with each other. Home child care fosters emotionally secure interpersonal relationships.

Home child care providers care for multi-aged groups of children allowing children to remain with one caregiver for many years. This develops trust and security in children. In multi-aged settings, siblings are able to stay together and learn from one another. Parents prefer the option of their child being cared for in a home environment while they are at work, as opposed to a more institutional-like setting.
